Whether you are looking to learn about trees from around the world, observe wildlife, hike or simply find a quiet place to relax, Pine Hollow Arboretum is a wonderful place to visit. We are in the historic hamlet of Slingerlands, just minutes away from the City of Albany.

Dr. John W. Abbuhl, a local pediatrician and our founder, began planting trees around his home to create an attractive setting in 1966. His affinity for the land, interest in horticulture, and love of trees combined to inspire the creation of Pine Hollow Arboretum .  Dr. Abbuhl's vision of “trees in a natural environment” established the

Our mission is to preserve, manage and enhance native and introduced species in a natural and aesthetic environment. In alignment with our mission, we offer hands-on environmental education opportunities and promote health and wellness activities.
